T-Marriage

Privacy

Mun Cyber Technologies, Inc. operates T-Marriage, including the website at tmarriage.com and the T-Marriage apps for iPhone and Android. This page describes the information the service handles so you can decide whether to use it. T-Marriage is for adults 18 and older.

Information we collect

Account details

  • Your email address and password. We store a scrambled (hashed) version of the password, not the password itself.
  • Your mobile number, if you add one. It is optional and is used to send sign-in codes by text message.
  • Your birth date, which we use to confirm you are 18 or older.
  • Your account type, such as looking for a partner or a parent or relative helping an adult.
  • An account ID that we create, and the settings you choose, such as notification and read receipt settings.

Sign in with Google or Apple

If you choose Continue with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier from Google or Apple and the email address they confirm. We do not copy your name or photo from Google or Apple. You type your first name yourself. For Apple, we keep a sign-in token so we can tell Apple to disconnect T-Marriage when you delete your account.

Profile details

  • Your first name, gender, who you are seeking, relationship goal, and age range. Gender and who you are seeking are required for accounts looking for a partner, because search and matching depend on them.
  • Optional details such as your bio, education, career, languages, children, lifestyle and values answers, family and traditions, and the family or matchmaker settings you choose.
  • Sensitive details that you choose to add: your race or ethnicity, your faith, and your church or faith community. These are optional. You can leave them blank or clear them at any time. If you add them, they appear on your profile, race or ethnicity can be used as a search filter, and faith is used when we suggest compatible matches.

Approximate location

You choose a country, a state or region when that country has them, and a city. In the United States you can also enter a ZIP code. We turn the ZIP code into an approximate location (the center of that ZIP code area) using a lookup table on our own server, so we can show distance in search. Other members see your city, state, and country, not your ZIP code. The apps do not read your device location or GPS.

Photos, videos, and voice messages

  • Photos you add to your profile or gallery.
  • Photos, videos, voice messages, and audio files you send in chat. Videos can be up to 60 seconds long and voice messages up to 5 minutes long.

Messages and activity

  • Chat messages between matched members and between accepted friends, with the time each message was sent, delivered, and read.
  • Hearts (likes), matches, friend requests, blocks, hides, reports, feedback you send, and the last time you were active.

Push notification tokens

If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device or browser so we can tell you about new messages, matches, calls, and suggestions. On Android, notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and the Expo push service. On iPhone, they are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and the Expo push service. In a web browser, they are delivered through your browser maker's push service. We do not use these tokens for advertising.

Identity checks

A live selfie check through Persona, and a government ID check through Persona when it is required. Persona collects the selfie and ID images in its own flow. We store the inquiry status and reference, not a copy of a government ID, a document number, or a face image.

Calls

Call connection data through LiveKit when a voice or video call uses the hosted service. Calls are carried live and are not recorded.

Payments

Payment status through Stripe when a subscription is purchased on the website, or through Apple when a subscription is purchased in the iPhone app. Card numbers are handled by Stripe or Apple. The Android app does not sell anything.

How it is used

The information is used to run accounts, sign-in, search, matching, chat, calls, notifications, safety reports, and subscriptions. Selfie status is shown with a verified mark after the check is approved.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. The apps contain no ads and no advertising ID.

Safety checks on photos and messages

Before a photo is saved to a profile or sent in chat, it is checked for nudity, violence, and graphic content by OpenAI and Sightengine. These services receive the photo only to check it and return a result. A photo that fails the check is not posted, and some photos are held for review by our team. Chat messages are checked on our own server for common signs of romance scams, and a warning may appear under a message. Our team reviews reports and flagged content, and can suspend accounts.

Service providers

We use these companies to run T-Marriage on our behalf. They receive only what they need to do that job.

  • DigitalOcean and Cloudflare: hosting and secure connections.
  • Resend: email for sign-in and account codes.
  • Telnyx and Twilio: text messages with sign-in codes.
  • Persona: selfie and ID checks.
  • OpenAI and Sightengine: photo safety checks.
  • LiveKit: voice and video calls.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service, and Expo: push notifications.
  • Google and Apple: sign-in, when you choose it.
  • Stripe and Apple: payments, when you subscribe.

Other members see the profile details and photos you choose to show. Your email, mobile number, birth date, and ZIP code are not shown to other members.

Text messages (SMS)

We send one-time verification codes by text message only when you request them. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. They are shared only with our SMS provider to deliver messages. Our SMS providers are Telnyx and Twilio.

Security

All information sent between the apps or your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords and sign-in codes are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.

How long we keep information

  • Account, profile, photos, messages, and activity: kept while your account exists, and removed when you delete the account.
  • Photos you remove from your profile are deleted right away.
  • Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Records used to limit repeated sign-in attempts are kept for about 24 hours.
  • Website sign-in sessions last up to 14 days. Signing out ends the session.
  • Push notification tokens are removed when you sign out of the app, when you delete your account, or when the push service tells us the device no longer accepts notifications.
  • Each time we update the service, we save a backup copy of the database, and we keep only the 14 most recent copies. Our hosting provider also keeps automatic server backups for a limited time. Deleted information can remain in these copies until they are replaced.

Your choices

You can edit or clear your profile details, remove photos, turn off notifications by category, turn off read receipts, and hide your profile from search in Settings. You can also delete your account.

Deletion

You can delete your account in Settings. Deletion removes your profile, photos, likes, matches, messages, and notifications. Reports you filed may be kept without your name. Cancel an active subscription before you delete the account. Deleting an account does not refund a charge that was already made. The steps, including a request by email, are on the delete account page at https://tmarriage.com/delete-account.
